Testimonials
“I am so grateful for my experience in the Yoga Teacher Training program at Solid Gold Yogi. Their authentic, gentle, and down-to-earth approach to yoga feels so special, and made my teaching journey all the more meaningful.
I completed the training while working towards my masters in social work, seeking to deepen my understanding of the mind-body connection and explore how yoga can serve as a trauma-informed tool for safe embodiment. Since completing the training, I have been fortunate to offer regular yoga sessions while interning at a LGBTQ homeless shelter for young adults in Manhattan. It has been immensely gratifying to develop my skills as a leader and to share this transformative practice with the shelter residents. Providing them with a tool that has helped me connect with my own body and regulate my nervous system has been a profound experience, and I feel honored to now be in a place where I can facilitate this opening for others.
The teachers at Solid Gold Yogi are not only brilliant but also compassionate and humble, creating a nurturing environment for growth. The beautiful studio space became a comforting community haven during the winter training, allowing me to connect deeply with others and myself during the darkest months of the year. I wholeheartedly recommend this training to anyone seeking a meaningful and supportive yoga education.” - JH
“I’ve taken classes at Solid Gold Yogi for a few years, and have come to regard this studio as a sacred spot tucked away in the neighborhood. After working in fitness media for many years and being a student of yoga for over a decade, I’ve experienced much of the “business” and “mainstream” side of yoga, and was wary of larger institutions in the fitness space. In choosing take my take my 200hr training at Solid Gold Yogi, I specifically sought out an education that was local, personal, and reverent for the roots of the practice. I couldn’t be happier with the training I received at Solid Gold—the instructors all offer a unique perspective to the practice, the fellow students I trained with created a thoughtful and encouraging environment, and the curriculum was equal parts practice and theory. Leslie (and all those at Solid Gold) really go above and beyond to provide an education that goes beyond the pose, and offers inroads to the way Yoga is a part of our everyday existence.” - MA
“Solid Gold Yogi cultivated a safe and open community space for us to explore deeper themes, aspects and foundations of yoga. Everything I learned and practiced has ultimately helped me to develop more compassion for myself and others. I left with a greater understanding and appreciation of yoga as an instrument to reach moments of clarity, and a feeling of oneness. I felt encouraged to channel my creativity and love of yoga into sequencing a class that felt right in my own body. I am incredibly grateful I chose to sign up for this teacher training.” - MF
“I went into the teacher training with the intention of only doing it for myself, for my own practice. But what I experienced was an environment that opened me up to deeper levels of myself and desire to connect and share with others. Regardless of what brought me there, I had no idea how much every aspect of what we practiced and learned resonated with me. I found a deeper connection with myself, others, and the program re-awakened my love for community, sharing, and receiving.” - LK
“I absolutely loved every part of this training! Leslie, the teachers, and all the other trainees were so kind, welcoming, and nurturing through the experience. I learned so much about myself and was able to really digest and learn from the variety of content in readings, lecture, and practice.” - AF
